„Helena Wittmann assembles hypnotic registrations in images and sound that delve deep into the basic mechanics of our spatio-temporal sensibilities. Thriving on conceptual strategies, her projects grow from an insisting focus on a singular site, turning this particular space into the protagonist of her production.

Collected from the fourteen days on the sailing vessel Chronos, next to the roaring noises of the soundtrack, the film material divides into three categories: shots of Theresa sleeping, as if searching for a psychological dreamscape; sequences holding images from the cabin, the kitchen, and social spaces aboard, uncovering a sociological, inter-personal space in which the objects become actors; and finally the recordings of moonlight glittering across the surface of the sea. The latter images form a potential non-space and one almost bereft of time—as if the black and white would ignite a timeless abstraction.“ (Rhea Dall)
